Title:Program Aid

Under the direction of the MCO Program Manager, this position supports the day to day operations of the program department to ensure quality care experience for our members. The Program Aid is responsible for general clerical and administrative duties and provides staffing support to ensure continuity of care.

This position requires high-level communication, computer and customer service skills and an ability to maintain professional composure under stressful situations, including the emotional reactivity of members and direct care workers.

Essential Functions

  • Acts as a positive representative of Home Assist Health and upholds the company’s mission, vision and purpose.
  • Maintains electronic and hard copy filing system.
  • Retrieves documents from electronic and hard copy filing systems.
  • Assists with completing case audits, department reports, payroll, and other program related administrative duties.
  • Prepare and modify documents including correspondence, reports, drafts, memos, emails as needed.
  • Handles inbound calls as needed for the department.
  • Provides staffing support to Member Care Supervisors/Coordinators to ensure continuity of member care.
  • Provides one on one caregiving to members during business hours as emergency backup.
  • Provides back up coverage to the front office.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Education
    • Highschool Degree or GED
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
    • Excellent communication skills: written and verbal and the ability to follow directions, policies and procedures.
    • Excellent customer service skills.
    • Microsoft office (Outlook, Word and Excel).
    • Experience providing personal care and housekeeping, prefer minimum three months experience as a Caregiver.
    • Current AZ Driver’s License and reliable, insured transportation.
    • Must be at least 18 years of age.
    • Bilingual a plus.
  • Training/Certification/Licensure
    • AHCCCS Direct Care Worker Training or current AZBN CNA/LNA.
    • DCW Developmental Disability training module.
    • Skill Building/ISP Process or Habilitation Training.
    • Article 9 Training.
    • Prevention & Support Training required for specific services.
    • Current CPR and First Aid Certification.
  • Background Requirements
    • Must have DPS Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance (or be able to obtain one within 90 days hire).
    • Must pass Criminal Background if applying for DPS Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card.
    • Must pass Central Registry Check.
    • Must pass APS Registry Check.
    • Must sign notarized Criminal History Affidavit at new hire and every 3 years.
  • Immunization Requirements
    • Must have proof of TB Clearance.
  • Experience
    • Caregiving experience preferred
    • Office experience preferred
Working Conditions
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
  • May require sitting or standing for long periods of time.
